چکیده

In this study, a new formulation of low-cost, biodegradable, and non-toxic biosurfactant by Candida sphaerica UCP 0995 was investigated. The study conducted in bioreactor on an industrial waste-based medium, central composite rotatable design used for optimization. best results, namely 25.22 mN/m reduction surface tension, yield 10.0 g/L, critical micelle concentration 0.2 were achieved 132 h at agitation speed 175 rpm aeration rate 1.5 vvm. Compositional spectroscopic analyses the purified chemical methods, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance suggested that it is glycolipid-type biosurfactant, showed no cytotoxicity MTT assay. submitted to different methods as commercial additive, remained stable 120 days room temperature. Tensioactive properties stability evaluated pH values, temperatures, salt concentrations. obtained with all demonstrated good stability, tolerance wide ranges pH, temperature salinity, enabling application under extreme environmental conditions. Bioremediation tests performed check efficacy isolated selected microbial species removing oil from soil. results produced has promising agent bioremediation contaminated

Microbial Enhanced Oil Recovery Using Biosurfactant Produced by Alcaligenes faecalis

A bacterial strain (designated as Alcaligenes sp. MS-103) isolated from oil sample of the Aghajari oilfield in the south of Iran, was able to produce an effective extracellular lipopolysaccharide biosurfactant (1.2±0.05 g/l) on molasses as a sole carbon source. The highest surface tension reduction to level 20 mN/m was achieved by biosurfactant produced by cells grown on molasses under optimum ...

Biosurfactant Production by Rhodococcus Erythropolis and its Application to Oil Removal

The influence of different nutrients on biosurfactant production by Rhodococcus erythropolis was investigated. Increasing the concentration of phosphate buffer from 30 up through 150 mmol/L stimulated an increase in biosurfactant production, which reached a maximum concentration of 285 mg/L in shaken flasks. Statistical analysis showed that glycerol, NaNO3, MgSO4 and yeast extract had significa...

Removal of Mercury by Foam Fractionation Using Surfactin, a Biosurfactant

The separation of mercury ions from artificially contaminated water by the foam fractionation process using a biosurfactant (surfactin) and chemical surfactants (SDS and Tween-80) was investigated in this study. Parameters such as surfactant and mercury concentration, pH, foam volume, and digestion time were varied and their effects on the efficiency of mercury removal were investigated. The re...

Optimization and characterization of biosurfactant production by Bacillus subtilis isolates towards microbial enhanced oil recovery applications

Biosurfactant production by three Bacillus subtilis strains (#309, #311 and #573) isolated from Brazilian crude oils was optimized based on different carbon and nitrogen sources. The lowest surface tension values were obtained using sucrose containing media for the three isolates. Biosurfactants produced by each strain were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), proton...
